Pin finishes, 3D & special options

Choose the metal, surface, depth and details that make your custom pin work. Use the Cheburashka pin design to compare the options, then record your choices for the quote and sample.

Metal finishes and plating

PinPerfect offers the following finish options. Compare the same raised emblem in each treatment. These are visual illustrations, not calibrated metal swatches; lighting and the production sample determine the final appearance. The finish boards use metal-only studies to make plating easier to compare. The Cheburashka retail pin is listed in dyed black nickel; the other treatments shown are illustrative custom options.

Twelve named finish examples: gold, brass, copper, rose gold, rainbow, nickel, black nickel, dyed black, antique gold, antique brass, silver and chrome.

Gold

Warm yellow metallic finish. A classic choice for bright outlines.

Brass

A muted yellow metal tone. Compare the sample beside gold.

Copper

A reddish metal tone that brings warmth to exposed metal.

Rose gold

A pink-toned metallic finish; review it beside your enamel colors.

Rainbow

Iridescent metal shifts color with angle and light. Expect variation.

Nickel

A cool neutral metallic finish. This name is not a nickel-free claim.

Black nickel

Reflective dark gunmetal; compare against opaque dyed black.

Dyed black

Opaque black treatment for bold outlines and strong color contrast.

Antique gold

Gold highlights with darker recesses. Supplier name: Anti-Gold.

Antique brass

Brass highlights with darker recesses. Supplier name: Anti-Brass.

Silver

Bright silver-colored finish. The finish name does not mean solid silver.

Chrome

A bright reflective finish; review reflections and contrast on a sample.

Nine named finish examples: matte gold, antique copper, antique silver, antique nickel, matte nickel, matte silver, gold plus nickel, gold plus black nickel, and antique bronze.

Matte gold

A softer sheen than polished gold. Texture affects the final appearance.

Antique copper

Copper highlights and dark recesses. Supplier name: Anti-Copper.

Antique silver

Light highlights and dark recesses. Supplier name: Anti-Silver.

Antique nickel

Gray highlights and dark recesses. Supplier name: Anti-Nickel.

Matte nickel

A subdued gray metallic appearance with reduced shine.

Matte silver

A light silver-colored finish with a softer surface sheen.

Gold + nickel

Two metal tones in one design. Specify which areas use each finish.

Gold + black nickel

Gold details contrast with dark metal. Mark the boundary on the proof.

Antique bronze

Warm bronze with darker recesses; confirmed as an additional option by PinPerfect.

Choose your metal tone and sheen together: “gold” alone does not describe polished, matte or antique appearance. For two-tone plating, mark the areas of each finish. Ask for compatibility with hard enamel, soft enamel, 3D relief and any printing before approving.

Hard enamel, soft enamel and sculpted 3D

Hard enamel with a flush face, soft enamel with recessed color, and sculpted 3D metal with physical relief; each has a magnified illustrative side profile.

Hard enamel

The color-filled face is polished to a generally smooth, flush surface beside the metal outlines. Good for a clean graphic appearance.

Soft enamel

Color sits below raised metal separators, so the surface has visible and tactile recesses.

Sculpted 3D metal

Rounded forms, sloping contours and relief create physical depth. Ask which areas can include enamel or printed detail; this is not just a shaded drawing.

What to send for a 3D pin

Provide a front view and an angled or side reference. Mark what should rise, recess, round over or remain flat. Identify any cutouts and the intended width and height. Ask for an angled sample photo or video: a front-only image can hide the depth.

Enamel style and 3D relief are related design choices, rather than a guarantee that every combination can be produced. Keep relief depth, thickness, material and post placement in the confirmed production specification.

Special effects and moving details

Nine original concepts labeled glow, pearl powder, glitter, translucent color, moving or bobble, stone detail, UV printing, glitter chamber and temperature changing.

Glow

Choose the glowing areas and review charged and uncharged sample photos. Ask about charging conditions and visible glow.

Pearl powder

A pearlescent sheen within the color. Review movement under light, since a flat color chip cannot show the effect.

Glitter

Reflective particles within selected color areas. Specify the locations, particle look and coverage.

Translucent color

Light passes through the color layer so underlying metal can influence its appearance. Review it in more than one light.

Moving / bobble

A separate element can move. Specify the mechanism, movement range and clearance; the illustrated dangling element is one concept.

Stone detail

Add a stone-style embellishment. Confirm material, size, setting, position and attachment in the quotation.

UV printing

Printed detail can supplement metal and color areas. Mark printed artwork separately and review fine details at final size.

Glitter chamber

A transparent chamber contains loose glitter. Confirm chamber shape, fill, sealing and how movement appears in the sample.

Temperature changing

Color responds to temperature. Confirm transition colors, response range and reversibility with the sample.

Mark the exact areas receiving each effect on a separate artwork layer. A special effect may change the production method, thickness or packaging clearance. Confirm the effect and its compatibility in the quotation; approve it from a sample shown under appropriate lighting or in motion.

Pin attachment options

Eight named attachment concepts: butterfly clutch, rubber clutch, deluxe clutch, jewelry clutch, screw nut, magnet, safety pin and stick pin.
AI-edited illustrations using PinPerfect’s Cheburashka design. Open the image to enlarge it. Confirm the finish, proportions and mechanisms in your sample.

Butterfly clutch

A metal squeeze-back for a short post. Confirm clutch finish and the number of posts.

Rubber clutch

A push-on rubber cap for a short post. Confirm color and fit.

Deluxe clutch

A locking-style metal cap. Confirm the exact release mechanism and how to remove it.

Jewelry clutch

A compact jewelry-style fastening. Confirm its dimensions and mechanism; supplier naming can vary.

Screw nut

A threaded post and matching nut. Specify post length for the intended fabric or mounting surface.

Magnet

A non-piercing magnetic fastening with a separate garment keeper. Review grip through your intended fabric.

Safety pin

A hinged brooch-style mechanism across the back. Confirm orientation and closing clearance.

Stick pin

A long needle with a protective end cap. Confirm length, orientation and packaging clearance.

Choose the attachment for the intended garment or display, then confirm the number of posts, their positions and the orientation. Fastener names do not guarantee identical mechanisms across production runs. Review the actual back as part of your sample approval.

Packaging options

Six packaging concepts labeled poly bag, OPP bag, velvet pouch, plastic box, paper box and velvet box.
AI-edited illustrations using PinPerfect’s Cheburashka design. Open the image to enlarge it. Confirm the finish, proportions and mechanisms in your sample.

Poly bag

A flexible clear bag around the pin. Confirm closure type, size and whether a backing card is included.

OPP bag

A crisp clear film bag, often specified with a flap. Confirm bag construction and any backing card separately.

Velvet pouch

A soft drawstring presentation pouch. Specify size, color and any requested branding.

Plastic box

A rigid presentation box. Confirm insert, closure and clearance for the attachment.

Paper box

A paperboard presentation box with a fitted insert. Specify box size, colors and any printed artwork.

Velvet box

A structured velvet-covered presentation box. Confirm insert fit and the open and closed appearance.

Specify packaging separately from the pin: quantity per pack, backing card artwork, bag or box dimensions, insert, attachment clearance and branding. Confirm what the written quotation includes. The Cheburashka pin and unbranded packaging shown here are original visual concepts.
