Custom Enamel Pin Guide

Custom Enamel Pin Guide

You do not need production-ready artwork to start a custom pin order. A logo, sketch or reference image can begin the conversation. The useful first step is to explain who the pins are for, how many you need and when you need them.

1. Send the idea and practical requirements

PinPerfect makes custom enamel pins from 50 pieces per design. Share the quantity for each design, your event date and delivery destination. For an organization, include any brand guidelines and a clear logo file. The quote form accepts AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, PNG and JPG files.

Use artwork you are entitled to reproduce. If you have only an initial concept, say which details matter most. Design support is included, and the artwork can be adapted to the manufacturing process.

2. Agree the size, finish and attachment

The form covers sizes of approximately 19, 25, 32, 38, 44 and 51 mm across the longest side. A detailed logo or small text may need a larger pin or a simpler drawing. Review the design at its actual intended size rather than only zoomed in on a screen.

Soft enamel has recessed colour and raised metal lines. Hard enamel is polished to a smoother surface. Discuss plating, rubber or butterfly clutches, any magnetic attachment, and packaging before the quote is finalized. A backing card is part of the specification rather than something to assume is included in every order.

The colour sits below the metal outlines. You can feel the raised lines when you touch the pin. The colour and metal are polished to the same level. The front of the pin feels smooth. Opens in a new tab.

UV printing

UV printing
UV printing is great for very fine details, gradients, or small text that traditional enamel can’t capture. It’s an optional add-on we can advise on for your design. Opens in a new tab.

The Beeper pin · From our own collection

From artwork to enamel: our Beeper pin

A green screen, Hebrew lettering and flames. These three images show how our Beeper design moved from an illustration to a production specification and a finished enamel pin.

The original artwork

The illustration establishes the beeper silhouette, the ״עם ישראל חי״ lettering and the flames. The artwork uses blended warm colors in the fire.

02

The production proof

Front and back production proof specifying soft enamel, zinc alloy, dyed-black metal, seven color references, a 1.25-inch width and 23.4 mm height.

The proof turns that illustration into a manufacturing specification. It separates the flame colors into defined areas and records seven color references, dyed-black metal, dimensions and two backing positions.

The finished pin

Finished Beeper soft-enamel pin with black metal outlines, a green Hebrew display and yellow and orange flame details.

The finished photograph shows the lettering, controls and flame details in metal and enamel. Raised black outlines divide the colored areas and give the small object its texture.

What this project shows

The proof connects the idea to the product.

The clearest change is in the flames: blended color in the illustration becomes distinct color areas in the proof and finished pin. The Hebrew lettering and overall silhouette carry through all three stages.

For your own custom enamel pins, review the artwork together with the size, color references, metal finish and attachment positions. They describe the same object from different angles.

3. Review the written quotation

Check the quantity per design, dimensions, enamel, plating, attachments, packaging, price before VAT and delivery details. PinPerfect’s indicative prices include mold fee, a free sample and shipping. See the bulk order and pricing guide for planning ranges.

4. Approve a real sample in photos or video

After the design is agreed, a real sample pin is manufactured. You receive photos or video for approval before the production run. Check the shape, lettering, colour areas, metal finish and attachment against the agreed specification. Ask about anything unclear before approving it.

This is approval of a real sample through images; it does not mean a physical sample is shipped to you. Keep the approved specification and reference images with the order details.

5. Allow time for production and delivery

Typical production and delivery take 4–6 weeks from artwork approval. Share a fixed event deadline at the beginning so feasibility can be confirmed before you commit. For a reorder, provide the previous order reference and confirm the current specification, price and schedule.
